Celeste Seibel: retrograde is a time of reflection. And you can imagine it too like a car, like it drove around this path or these blocks and it like stopped here and now it's imagine it's just backing up through its course for a while. So retrograde can have a little bit of that like, ooh, maybe I need to make some shifts or maybe you have some new insights about something. it's not the time to start something new. So it wouldn't be the best time to launch a big business venture or jump into a big commitment or a relationship or something like that.

Sasha Pearl: What if Venus retrograde and Mercury retrograde and all the retrogrades that are happening up in the sky in astrology is not something that we need to fear, but something that we get to embrace, to reinvent, to reflect on. Today on the podcast, I have Celeste Seibel, an astrologer in Portland, Oregon, and we dive deep into all things Venus retrograde and Mercury retrograde happening in October. As always, I'm your host, Sasha Pearl, the Energy Architect, and I guide soul-led women in building authentic six-figure businesses online by aligning their identity, their brand, and their content from the inside out using my Highly Potent Method. But before we dive into the episode, I'd love to chat about my human first content intensive. This is a 90-minute call one-to-one with moi, and we go over everything your social media. It's a super, super fun process, and I cannot wait to be in presence with you, obviously. with further ado, let's get into it. Today on the podcast, we have Celeste Seibel. She is a two-four generator with emotional authority and a beautiful astrologer based in Portland, Oregon. Celeste, welcome to the podcast.

Celeste Seibel: Thank you, Sasha. It's so nice to be with you and see you. I'm excited.

Sasha Pearl: I'm so excited to have you here. So as always, I would love to hear, because you are a professor as well as an astrologer. So I would love to hear more about how you got started on this journey.

Celeste Seibel: Sure, yeah. well, I am an academic, and I've been pursuing this academic career really for a long time. I started pursuing academics when I was in my undergrad, and then when I got into graduate school, I continued to do research and work on different projects through the school social work, and then when I was done with graduate school, they hired me on as a researcher and I ran multiple projects and did that for a long time. And then I for the last nine years I have been doing the professor track. So I've been really rooted in academia for a long time. Sometimes I like to think of it as like, well, I loved college so much that I just stayed. I think it feels weird to be like, I've been doing this for twenty years and you know, it that's a long time, especially considering that I'm forty six. So, you know, like it's been half my life. and so I'm very rooted in the materialistic paradigm, which basically just means like, unless you can prove it, I don't believe it. Like that was my framework as an academic. And I think it's really helpful and supportive when we are doing research, when we're testing theories, when we are evaluating interventions and stuff like that. That's a very helpful tool to use. But I was I I think our culture more broadly is very rooted in this materialistic paradigm. And so I think that I have always been you know, very intuitive and sensitive and open minded and curious, but I shut all of that off and I'm like, I'm an academic, I want to be taken seriously, I wanna be a strong researcher, and I'm gonna just do the best job I can with this scientific method. You know, that was my framework for a long time. And then in twenty fifteen I went through a divorce and my whole life kind of turned upside down and I was starting over and I remember that one of my friends, he was like, let's just go get like a birth chart reading for fun. I had never read my chart. you know, I didn't know what my rising time was. I didn't even know what a rising time was, but I just was in a place where I was like, why not? And I went to this reader and she's incredible. and I still work with her today. I think it's how fate works. Sometimes you find your people along your path. And I had my chart read and I just felt so seen. And I was like, How would this person know this about me? And especially I think because I was in a tender place with my divorce that just it it helped me kind of make sense of things and I felt validated in a way and seen in a way that I never had before and I also was uncovering gifts that I was maybe I knew it was deep down in there but like you know I I wasn't totally accessing. And so I think that that planted the seed and when I it's not like a subtle, like, let's see how this germinates over the next year. I planted like a big seed of like, I'm really curious about that and or this. And I want to get to the bottom of it and I want to understand it. So maybe this is part of my two four dynamic of the easy breezy genius. But I'm like, I want to make sense of this. I love systems. I want to understand how all of this works. And I started taking classes and reading books and ki just wanting to understand it and applying it to my own life. Like that's how I really started. I just I didn't have a desire at the time to do readings for other people. I just wanted to understand it for myself. And the more that I uncovered and the more that I navigated this this pain this pain and this grief with my divorce, I just felt held in a way that is hard to describe, but it really supported me. And so I just was like, I like this framework. And it challenged my materialistic ideals because I'm like, none of this is provable. And even though it's been around for thousands of years, but we haven't been able to test it in the ways that I'm familiar with. And so it was a little bit like like a little secret, you know, I didn't talk about it with my colleagues at the university unless they were really cool and I felt like, you know, hey, I'm interested in this, but like sh don't tell the big wigs. And and I I I just kind of I feel like I kind of moonlit with it. I was like, ooh, I'm curious about this, but I'm I'm gonna kinda keep it close to the best. And that's how it started to take root. And to be honest, it hasn't stopped. I find it endlessly fascinating and that drive to learn more and understand more and also now really help people understand their charts and how they can navigate through transits and what their chart means and access their gifts and help to normalize maybe challenges or frustration points that they're experiencing has been really gratifying.

Sasha Pearl: Yeah. And Celeste and I actually met at a day retreat in White Salmon, right? and she had this one, it was like what 30 minute talk on the Jupiter return of twenty twenty five,

Celeste Seibel: Mm-hmm.

Sasha Pearl: maybe. And I was like, I'm obsessed with everything that you're saying. You like are so knowledgeable on all of these things. And you also do are you still doing tarot readings as well? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. And so I got a tarot reading and it was just so aligned and I ugh, I think I ended up yeah, I think I got like the two of cups or something in my reading and I ended up meeting my partner who I'm with now. Which so I was like, this is like so aligned. I know, it was so aligned. but for listeners who don't know you, what is your sun, moon, and rising?

Celeste Seibel: Yes, yes. Okay, great question. Well, my son is in Aquarius, which is an air sign, which I think really speaks to I think also I I have a gift for dab and so it's communication and connection. That's all rooted in air sign. My rising sign, in honor of my rising sign, Leo, I'm wearing my animal print. Yes.

Sasha Pearl: my god, that makes so much sense. Okay, I got it. She's like currently if you're listening to this, she's wearing like leopard print with like really bold lip. She looks so good. so that makes a lot of sense to me. Okay, keep going.

Celeste Seibel: Yes, yes. Well, you know, Leo, fire sign, passion, creativity. And so I bring a boldness and a fierceness. And I I also feel okay like on a stage, like that feels comfortable to me. But then Leo and Aquarius actually oppose each other. So they're sort of like polar opposites. So I have a lot of that push pull energy in my chart because Aquarius would rather be in the back and observe and like doesn't want to be center stage but likes to be a little quirky and weird. And so then my Leo is like, hey, here I am and like, I'll be quirky and weird and loud. And then other times I'm like, I'm gonna just be over here and observe and kind of take it in. and then my moon is cancer, which is a water sign, so emotions, the ho The home of the moon. Leo is the home of the sun. So my sun and moon are very, very strong in my chart, but I that's where I think I get a lot of my intuition. My Venus is also in Pisces, so that's another water sign where in a powerful placement where Pisces or excuse me, Venus is exalted. So I think that that's another place where I get a lot of my intuition and my gifts of of connection on that kind of like intuitive soul level.

Sasha Pearl: I love that. I love that you brought in the Aquarius with the Leo because for your profile, which is your personality, the Aquarius feels like the line to the hermit, the naturally gifted, where you're like kind of you want to be like really reserved and doing your own thing. And then you have the opposite, which is the fourth line of being really externalized and like wanting community and connection. So I love that you have both of those like thriving in astrology and in the human design placements as well. okay, so I'm a S so you describe this for me. So I'm Taurus Sun, Libra moon, Libra rising.

Celeste Seibel: Yes. Okay. Well, and I have your chart right here. So I'm gonna also take a little peek. Okay, so for you, our rising sign is how we present and it's kind of the the sign's always in the first house, which is the house of self. So it's like who we are and how we navigate the world, how others see us, it's the self. And so for you, Libra is an air sign. So again, that's where you are friendly and communicative, interested in others, and Libra is ruled by Venus, which is this planet of relationships, beauty, aesthetics. And so Libras have like this magnetic force with inside them that just draws people. to them like a magnet. Like you don't even have to work that hard. People are just drawn to you. And Libras

Sasha Pearl: Yes year.

Celeste Seibel: love being with people and want everyone to be having a good time and like want things to be happy and fun and chill. But if things get out of balance, the Libra is the first one in the group to be like, well, something's off, let's fix it. Or if there's injustice, because again Libra is the scales of justice. If there's any kind of injustice, The Libra is the first to be like, that's not right. We've got to figure this out. But they'll do it typically in a in a diplomatic way when they're really in their power. And if they are in the shadow side, it might be a little bit more of people pleasing and putting other people's needs ahead of their own because they just want everyone to get along and they are willing to kind of take the hit if that means that they have to put their needs on the back burner. So for you in particular, since that's both your rising and your moon, you're bringing in that different energy. And then for your moon, it's all about our emotions and our everyday life. Because think about how the moon is always moving. So it it changes it moves quickly. It's moving, it's mutable in that sense, not to be confused with a mutable sign, but mutable that it's also rooted in your emotions. And since it's in your first house of self, like yourself and your emotions are deeply, deeply tied to who you are. I think that's part of why that can be so present within you and so forward facing with your gifts of connection and intuition. It's because of that placement in your first house.

Sasha Pearl: Mm. That's very accurate.

Celeste Seibel: And then Taurus for your son. this is the other sign that's ruled by Venus. And so you have a lot of that Venus energy, but Taurus is different in a good way. It's an earth sign, it's grounded, it's rooted, and Taurus is more about like, let's just sit back, let's chill, let's like get some nice mood lighting, let's like have a nice dinner, let's just relax, let's just kind

Sasha Pearl: Yeah.

Celeste Seibel: of sink into this. comfy, cozy couch and just like enjoy the evening, you know, that's like Taurus's vibe. And so but Taurus can be stubborn. Like if like someone's pushing back, doesn't want to just chill and relax, like Taurus can be like, no, like that's that's not happening. I'm gonna just chill right here. You know, there's this it's the bowl, right? So imagine a bull in a field surrounded in flowers, that's a split. But if you piss off that bull. The bull is like, no, you you cannot make me even if you want to. So in a great way, you have a lot of this incredible Venus energy. You're you know, that's the ruler of your chart is Venus. And so it's incredible that like you have that energy and that planet is really steering who you are and how you show up in the world.

Sasha Pearl: Yeah, yeah. No, I feel I feel I feel that deeply. I always say I'm a triple Venus. Sounds good. And then I have

Celeste Seibel: Yes, like you are.

Sasha Pearl: so we are today on the podcast gonna be discussing Venus retrograde that is happening in October. the last thing I have for Venus is Aries and Venus. You mentioned you have Pisces and Venus for you. So Aries

Celeste Seibel: Yeah.

Sasha Pearl: and Venus with me, I think, makes me a little spicy.

Celeste Seibel: Yes, yes. let me look at your chart really quick because I want

Sasha Pearl: Okay.

Celeste Seibel: to see what other things are happening with your Venus. So give me just one second here. yes, okay. Well, this is it's also in your seventh house of committed partnerships. So, and again, since it's the ruler of your chart, that means that committed partnerships are a part of your purpose and part of your path. And these are romantic committed partnerships. business committed partnerships and even like besties that you've made a commitment to, even if it's like we're gonna be besties forever, like that's a commitment, you know. So think about the people that you have, you have a bond and a connection and a commitment to. That's what the seventh house represents. And for you that is Aries. And so Aries is a fire sign. Again, passion, creativity, action, movement. Aries is all about like getting things done, marching to the beat of its own drum. getting like things going and having a plan and like let's get it started, let's get moving. let's like even if that means there's a challenge or again it's Aries is ruled by Mars. So Mars is the planet of war. So there could be even a little bit like, hey, I saw right if like there's some heat or some friction or some conflict or some challenge, I'm okay with that because I'm moving ahead. So you have a lot of that kind of Aries energy in this part of your chart, which I think again speaks to you as a business owner and who you make commitments and partnerships with and your life and whatever form they take, but it's in that style of Aries. Like you crave that and you also need that and that's how you show up. But for Venus in particular, Venus has a hard time in Aries. It's where it's Struggles because the energy of Aries is very, very different than Venus. So as we've been describing, Venus is about love and beauty and harmony and peace and aesthetics and like wants everyone to get along. And like Aries is like, I don't care if everyone gets along. I've got we've got a plan. I'm in charge. Get going, you know? And so

Sasha Pearl: Yeah.

Celeste Seibel: I think that you naturally have a little bit of that push pull. But when a planet is in the the sign of their detriment or their fall, meaning it struggles there, that it then has to work harder and kind of take on some of those characteristics to be successful in that sign. And so for you, you've probably learned how to use your Venus in a way that can like move in the spirit of Aries. So you're still Soft and friendly and loving and all of those beautiful things that come with that, especially talking about your rising sign and your sun sign and where your moon is. So there's all of that like softness. But where those where I think especially Libra struggles a little bit, Aries is great with boundaries. So you've probably learned like, Ooh, I need to have these boundaries in place because I will get kind of trompled over if I don't have these in place. And so you've been learning and like think of it as like having a little bit of grit or refinement with how you do relationships and commitments to people and what that looks like. Like you probably have become really savvy at like, how am I gonna like partner with people? What contracts or agreements do I want to have in place that protect me and protect that other person and that ensures that we're on the same page. around what it is that we're committing to with each other. And so there's a real savviness, I think, to your Venus because it's been in this, it's in a sign where it struggles a bit. But you know, that's okay. I think that like oftentimes we learn the gifts of our placements because sometimes it's easy and breezy and awesome and we love it and it's just like the planet is like having a great time. But then oftentimes with those placements, people just assume that's just like life and how everything is, and they don't actually see or recognize all of their gifts sometimes. But when you have

Sasha Pearl: That's true.

Celeste Seibel: a planet in a place where it struggles, it's like you're really working with it and you start to uncover new interesting layers. And so I think for you, especially because Venus steers the path of your your whole life and and purpose, it's like you're learning how to use Venus in all of these different capacities that that ultimately serve you and your partnership. How did that land?

Sasha Pearl: Yeah, definitely. I will say with like the Taurus side, I actually never really related to Taurus that much until my 30s. I was like, I do really like the luxury, the nice things, like the slowness or like the, you know, like the the couch days. But I also that Venus and Aries has always made me that like go getter, like, let's get it done. But I had to your point though, finding that balance, it's like if I'm constantly like really sharp in that, it really off puts people. So I have to use my Venusian energy to really like charm, charm them and try to be that diplomat to be like, hey, like let's guide you into this direction and make sure it's your idea before we move there versus being like, this is how we go and let's go, you know? So there's like this like like I'm like, I know where we need to go, but I also need to bring the team with me. So how do we get everyone on board so we can like have a balanced, harmonious exploration into the next the next thing. And I will say in my early

Celeste Seibel: Yeah.

Sasha Pearl: twenties boundaries were like shit, absolute shit, you know?

Celeste Seibel: Totally. I mean, I think that's normal for a lot of twenty year olds. It's like we

Sasha Pearl: Yeah.

Celeste Seibel: figure it out as we go. And I also think you bring up a really good point about the seventh house because it all is also the house where you like your business clients, so the people who sign contracts with you. And so even like thinking through is this the right fit for you? Is this the right fit for the client? Let's talk it out, let's make sure that we're on that same page and that That we both feel good about moving forward in this commitment together. And so yes, like I think that that's where your Venus is helping you to like you said, soften the edges a bit and bring in all of those good relational skills. Cause I would say if Venus wasn't there, you might be a little bit more like hard on like partnerships in terms of like, this is what it's gonna look like, or like. You're either with me or against me, you know, 'cause that's kind of the spirit of Aries. So I think yeah.

Sasha Pearl: moments. I have those moments for sure. I'm like, get on board or get the fuck off. I gotta go. You know, like I'm I can be very

Celeste Seibel: Totally, totally.

Sasha Pearl: like if I'm so clear in myself and the other person's like holding me back, it is harder for me to be diplomatic because I'm like, n this is where I know I need to go and like you can just allow me to go and you can stay or you can get off completely. You know, like I'm just like, but I have to go this way. So you have to figure out how you're gonna move with me because I know I have to go this way. I can be a pretty cutthroat sometimes, Celeste.

Celeste Seibel: Hey, well, it's in your chart. That makes sense. And I

Sasha Pearl: Ha ha

Celeste Seibel: I think it's like I don't know. Let me know what you think about this, but I I think it's like we don't have to apologize for our boundaries. We don't have to apologize for what we know is right for us. Because I know a lot of with especially like human design and me as a generator, it's like I'm always having to check in to see like, does this feel energizing? Does this feel align? Does this feel right? And so I think as women in particular and FEMS and everybody more broadly, but I think especially women and FEMS, we've been taught to like people please and to put other people's needs ahead of our own and to you know, be soft and accommodating, which is a in beautiful things and those are very Venetian things. But I also think that it's it's great to have boundaries, it's great to have clarity, it's great to know if the people that you're partnering with are like on board. You know, versus

Sasha Pearl: yeah.

Celeste Seibel: like I I bet you knowing you anyway, I bet you could not stand a one foot in and a one foot out. Like that wouldn't fly for like

Sasha Pearl: I hate it. I hate it. I'm like, get your shit together. Like, let's go. I like and here's the thing when it's one foot in, one foot out, I actually don't care which side. I don't care. Like just pick one. Like that is like so that's so funny. I'm like feel so cussy in right now. I'm like, just pick a fucking side. Pick it. Well, because then it helps me

Celeste Seibel: Totally.

Sasha Pearl: navigate you. Like, you don't have to be like you can go do you. I'm s in huge support of that. But like just pick a side. The wobbly. I've had some actually some like friendship ruptures because I'm like, don't commit to something with me if you're not fully in. If you're in my calendar, I'm creating time and space for you. And if you don't do that back for me, then that doesn't, it feels imbalanced. I feel like that's a clear, that's actually interesting how that the Aries like wants that boundary. And then the Libra's like, it's imbalance. If you don't, if you that's so interesting. I've never thought of it like that. Yeah. Fascinating.

Celeste Seibel: Yeah, yeah. And even I'm thinking about Venus too. I mean, this is about our relationships. And again, it's it's like our relationship we're always evolving. Our relationships are always evolving. And so I do think that maybe like if you let's say you had a friend from your twenties who was a little flaky, a little one foot in a one foot out, and like you said earlier, you were like maybe not as strong with your boundaries back then. But now this version of Sasha, who is running a big business and and your time is precious and you value respect and reciprocity. And so if that same friend, we love them, but if they are still kind of in their flaky, unsure, noncommittal ways, it's like, well, you're different now and it's okay if they haven't changed, but you've changed and this is what

Sasha Pearl: Mm-hmm.

Celeste Seibel: you require in your commitments. With with your like real chosen besties or your p business partners or your romantic partner, you know, you have standards that that that speak to you. And if maybe that other friend, it's like, well, maybe they'll still stay of like a qu an acquaintance, but they're no longer in the inner circle, you know. And I think that that's what Venus also helps us understand over time. But especially with your placement, I think that that is where you both are learning how to be soft and direct and clear all at the same time because that's you have a real push-pull in that part of your chart and what's so interesting is that is again your purpose and so for people I ha I the ruler of my chart, my son is in my seventh house as well. So this is we have this in common. And so the thing about people who have displacement is that the partners you choose Are actually part of your purpose. And so choose your partners wisely. Because either they're gonna be amazing teachers that help us to learn about what we want and don't want and how to set clear, firm boundaries. or they're gonna be the people that we partner with that help us bring our purpose into being. And so I think that that's the biggest takeaway for people like you and me, where our our the ruler of our chart is in the seventh house. It's like, choose your partners wisely. And then the flip side of that is also because the seventh house is all about partnership and connection and people and our relationship with them, that sometimes we can lose track of who we are and not just Libras. I think anyone with this dynamic, it's like we have to constantly be checking back in and saying and Where how do I fit? Where am I in this dynamic? What's important to me? Is my true authentic self being represented? And so it's a constant kind of going from the self and to the partnership and examining how those relationships with both ourselves and others are in what we're learning and hopefully in alignment and support of the growth in both of those domains.

Sasha Pearl: Yeah, I actually love that you brought this up. I'm wondering if you have any insight on this. in my early 20s, I lived with a man and no boundaries, like left the relationship not knowing who I even was anymore. Like was just like, no, yeah, we can do what you want to do. You, you, whatever you, right? And not that he was like forceful in any of that. I just didn't have any sense of self or like care to lead in that way or like be part of the partnership in that way. So fast forward to this new relationship, and I'm like. I'm feeling that tension of like, ha I'm like, I have, I know what I need to do and being really like that Aries, like energy, like very direct, but also seeing the impact of like not allowing the other person to even like come in. So it's like I'm I keep oscillating between this really strong boundary, but then finding disconnection and then having no boundary and then feeling disconnection with myself. So like disconnection with partnership, and then I lean over and then I go the opposite way. I keep doing like the back and forth and the oscillating, and I'm like, There has to be and I think we're I'm getting there, but I'm just like there has to be more of a like like an equal give and take here because it's disconnection on both sides if I lean too far into the partnership or too far into like myself and what I'm doing. So do you have any do

Celeste Seibel: Yeah.

Sasha Pearl: you have any advice for me?

Celeste Seibel: Well, I think that it's really natural, especially for someone with a strong Libra placement in particular, is that we can again, it's very normal to put other people's needs ahead of our own and and so like that early relationship in your twenties where that you kind of gave all your power and control over to this person and it probably was a big teacher for you. Like it's probably a relationship where you're like, ooh, I don't love how that unfolded in that way. And so how can I make some shifts and changes? And the one thing I know about you is you're someone that's always doing a lot of deep reflection and insight and wanting to grow and evolve. And so you likely then were like when you're calling in the I a partner and then your current partner popped up, which is so awesome. I love, I forgot that you had the two of cups. And I

Sasha Pearl: Yeah.

Celeste Seibel: it's like I cause I remember side note at that reading, you were sort of like, What's going on with dating? This is bananas out here. Like help me out. And so I think even when I was like, it's coming, I think you were a little bit of like, I don't believe you or like, yikes, send them.

Sasha Pearl: Yeah. I'm like, sure. Well, and because I had the Queen of Cups on one side and the King of C or like

Celeste Seibel: Yes.

Sasha Pearl: Queen and a King on either opposite, and you're like, no, there's a divine feminine and a divine masculine happening and like two of cups is right in the center. You're like th something is actually happening for you. I'm like, okay. You know, you you have to hold it all loosely. But that was in end of May, May ish time. And then it happened in July. So anyways.

Celeste Seibel: Yeah. Hello. Yeah, yeah, 'cause I 'cause

Sasha Pearl: Yeah.

Celeste Seibel: if you don't in you know, don't answer if this feels personal, but how long were you calling in a partner or like in that place of feeling ready for a relationship?

Sasha Pearl: I think it was like probably about a year, but I wasn't like doing like significant dating. I think I was still trying to figure out what I even wanted. And like the dating apps felt really exhausting and tiring. it actually I changed my name to, I think I must have been right after we met then. Cause I

Celeste Seibel: Yeah.

Sasha Pearl: think, yeah. And then the next in the next 48 hours, I met him. Yeah. So I think it was like multi. Yeah,

Celeste Seibel: that ooh, I just got shells.

Sasha Pearl: it was like in a it's like in a It was a series of events, right? Where it was just like I was calling in a completely new identity and then it it and then it landed finally.

Celeste Seibel: You know what's so interesting? because we were doing a reading, I think 'cause we did a little trade and and this it was for your your reading because you had done a human design reading for me. And so I was doing a birth chart reading for you. And you had just got back from this retreat where the download to change your name, and I remember you popped on and you're like, Hey, I'm Sasha now. And I kinda thought you were just like joking a little bit, like like kind of like Beyonce's alter ego. Like I'm like this is my Sasha era and you had like on a really fun, like loud outfit and you know, you had like I think like pink eyeshadow on and you just were like like looking so awesome and and amazing and just like a little bit different from a yoga retreat, which makes sense because you know, that's we're wearing leggings and workout attire and and I it was like I had it seeing you and like all of your made up kind of energy and it was a different energy, but I just kinda thought you were like having fun with your look and you're like, this is my Sasha look. And then I was like, cool, you know, 'cause I'm like a social worker. So I like it's I'll call anyone it whatever they want me to call them. Like that's whatever they go by. I don't care. Like I don't even think twice

Sasha Pearl: my god.

Celeste Seibel: about it. But then Then you went on to explain, like, no, I am changing my name and like this is what happened. And I was like, shit, like this is a big deal. Like you're really stepping into authentic expression. And

Sasha Pearl: Well that's

Celeste Seibel: so anyway, like I think that was like we w met like a day or two after you got back. And so then for you to meet your partner like a couple days after you and I even had that that reading, it's like woo, like things were

Sasha Pearl: Well

Celeste Seibel: Unfolding.

Sasha Pearl: yeah, well, and it took me a bit to l actually say that my name was Sasha now because everyone was like it d the entire process was like terrifying and also gr like you're grieving this old identity and then celebrating this new one and like it was so many layers unfolded there. But I must have been trying on that name when we had that reading then. Because it was like two days before I met Aaron that I was like, I'm S I'm going by Sasha because at the concert, get this. My friend is like Sasha, Sasha, and I'm not responding. Erin's standing right behind me. I don't know him really yet. And then she goes, Lindsay. And then I turn and he's like, what the fuck is going on? Because you know it's like you've been 36 years of being one name, or 35 years of being one name. And it was just like finally, like, it was so many nuances with changing your name, goddamn. But I just thought it was so funny. So funny. Anyways, we digress.

Celeste Seibel: Yeah, no, that that is awesome. And so I mean to kind of bring it back to what we were talking about, so you were saying that in this current partnership your partner's name is Aaron, is that right? Yeah.

Sasha Pearl: Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Celeste Seibel: So like it makes sense that with that previous relationship from your twenties that you where you didn't have the boundaries and you ki gave away your power and control and then there was this that part of you that's like, no, that's not okay. I'm never gonna do that again. Like I'm stepping into my power. And especially with that Aries placement, it was probably like that Aries part was like, Yes, like we got her. Like get on over to this side and so of the Aries like tug of war. And so my guess is is that and this is so normal, but you are doing overcorrections. And so you probably overcorrect a little too hard with the boundaries and then you're like, whoosh, that was maybe a little too much or a little like, how can I bring more of Aaron into this? And then maybe

Sasha Pearl: Mm-hmm.

Celeste Seibel: you get a little lost in that and then you're like, ooh, I think I'm losing myself a bit. And then you overcorrect a little bit. But my guess is that with time, 'cause you're still, you know, in a in a newer partnership, it's totally normal to be figuring all of this stuff out together. Cause we all bring, you know, our our family of origin into every romantic and well really any partnership or connection, speaking of the seventh house. And so it's

Sasha Pearl: Mm-hmm.

Celeste Seibel: like figuring out how to show up in a way that's aligned and authentic and kind of unlearned the things that aren't helpful that we maybe learned in childhood that helped us to survive that no longer serve us. And then also learn new skills. And it just sounds like especially with Libra, because Libra loves to talk and connect. It's an air sign. So I think talking it through with Aaron and saying he even like if you recognize you're doing it, like, I'm sorry, I overcorrected here. Can we talk about this? And just like knowing that you two are on the same team and that you are partners and how to work through that together. Cause Aaron is likely navigating their own like challenges and relationship stuff and family of origin stuff as well. So it's like you're you're

Sasha Pearl: Okay. Yeah.

Celeste Seibel: sorting it all out together is my guess. And it sounds like you're doing a good job.

Sasha Pearl: Yeah, and he's a sc We're trying. We're trying. He is the Scorpio son though, so he's very watery

Celeste Seibel: Mm.

Sasha Pearl: and in the depths of things. And then he has a Libra in Venus, which is in its exaltation. But

Celeste Seibel: Yes.

Sasha Pearl: I'm like, we' how our Venuses are very different. We want the

Celeste Seibel: If yes.

Sasha Pearl: balance and diplomatic and then Aries wants to like just get shit done. So it's been

Celeste Seibel: Ya.

Sasha Pearl: very fascinating. You're like, okay, okay, we're doing things a little differently here. But I love

Celeste Seibel: Yes.

Sasha Pearl: that advice too totally. Definitely course correcting. Cause there's a fear of like, what happens if I lose my boundaries again? What if I lose myself again? And like that is crazy because that's just like cannot happen with the evolution of who I am now. But there's still that old sticky stuff that comes through. And it's crazy how relationships are literally mirrors back into your soul and you're like, I thought we were done with this already.

Celeste Seibel: No, I know. It's like the joy of life is that we just get to constantly learn about who we are and how we're growing

Sasha Pearl: Yeah.

Celeste Seibel: and how we are living out our purpose, you know? Never ending. Yes. Yep. Yep. So we and this time,

Sasha Pearl: Yeah. What a joy. Our souls chose this. Our souls chose this. So

Celeste Seibel: this exact time in the world that feels really bonkers right now. It's like our soul's like, Yes, now, this is when we want to be here.

Sasha Pearl: Yeah, this is it. Yeah. We need your light here. well, I think this is the perfect segue to start talking about the retrogrades that are coming up. So I'm gonna let you take the floor on why does it matter and what can we expect and what should we be looking out for.

Celeste Seibel: Sure. Yeah. Well, so let's talk a little bit about what a retrograde is. And so astrology is always rooted on what we from Earth perceive in the sky, because the way that the planets move can look different if we were at a bird's eye view of the solar system versus like how we perceive it here on Earth. And so and all of the planets have a retrograde process and the the slower moving outer planets, they are re retrograde for like half a year. So it's a it's like we still feel it and sense it when it happens, but they move so slow and that like they kind of teach us these long term lessons. So it's not as like kind of rattling when when a slower moving planet like Venus and also or excuse me a faster moving planet like Venus and Mercury that we're gonna talk about today. When they station retrograde, we it's a little bit more at times. Like we it pulls more focus. We kind of notice it a bit more than the slower outer planets when they're retrograde. Not that we don't notice it. So what is retrograde? It is it means that from Earth, it appears that a planet is moving backwards. It's still moving forward, but it's the way that we perceive it. So it it appears to move backwards. And so you can imagine that it's like a car is driving forward, then it stopped. We have to stop. The planet appears to slow way down so it can stop and then it it backs up. It goes backwards. So a retrograde period is when the planet appears to be moving backwards. And so retrograde is a time of reflection. And you can imagine it too like a car, like it drove this you know, around this path or this these blocks and it like stopped here and now it's imagine it's just backing up it's backing up through its course for a while. And so retrograde again is just a it's a time of pause, a time of reflection, a time of like it's it's a time to slow down and to kind of maybe put some pieces together. We might get some new insights about who we are or what makes sense. It can sometimes shake stuff a little loose, you know. I know you had that great eclipse podcast that just dropped recently. So as we know, like the planets are here to help us shake loose what isn't serving us anymore. So retrograde can have a little bit of that like, ooh, like maybe I need to make some shifts or maybe you have some new insights about something. And so that is what is happening. And so it's like the car is driving forward, it stops, it backs up, and then it stops, and then it drives forward again. And so you can just imagine the car is is it's crossing the the path like three times. So driving forward, stop, back up, stop, forward, and then proceed. And so you can it's like it's really working this part of our chart and asking us to slow down, reflect. and kind of yeah see what new things what new insights happen it's not the time to start anything new i'm not saying that if like you know you get a great job opportunity or a great client locks in or someone's you know like a like a dating prospect pops up and you're like they seem interesting I'm not saying like you have to say no not until The retrograde, but it's typically

Sasha Pearl: Yeah.

Celeste Seibel: a time to you know slow down and it's not the time to start something new. So it wouldn't be the best time to launch a big business venture or jump into a big commitment or a relationship or something like that. However, you know, the universe sometimes has other plans for us and it doesn't always follow the retrograde

Sasha Pearl: Yeah.

Celeste Seibel: cycles. So you know, do you and do what feels authentic, especially thinking about human design. It's like what is lighting you up, what feels aligned, what is your clean or your emotional authority or whatever other thing is guiding you? Like listen to that. You know, that's

Sasha Pearl: Yep.

Celeste Seibel: I think the best advice.

Sasha Pearl: We do have free will here, people.

Celeste Seibel: Yes, exactly, exactly. Okay. So hopefully that was helpful just to talk about retrograde because I think we hear it a lot around like, Mercury's retrograde. This means blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And sometimes it can feel scary. And and I want to take the fear out of it. It's more just like, yeah, you know, it might get a little bumpy or a little wobbly or there might be things that feel off, but it's ultimately there asking us to slow down and and it's helping us in our growth.

Sasha Pearl: I love that. Okay. before we hop into the Venus retrograde,

Celeste Seibel: Okay. So

Sasha Pearl: you mentioned earlier the outer planets moving slower. So it's like not as like longer term, not really as like we're not gonna feel it as intensely as like the planets that are closer in. So can you just like briefly let us know which planets we should be thinking of or like which planets we were like, we're probably gonna feel a little something here and there because they're closer to us.

Celeste Seibel: sure, yeah. I mean it's really Mercury and Mercury station retrograde about three to four times a year. So that's why it is it's the most frequent retrograde in terms of the the main planets. We're not talking about minor planets here. So Mercury it stations retrograde the most. Then there is Venus. Venus stations retrograde about every year and a half, or I think it's I wrote it down eighteen months. So Venus is the next where it this happens about every year and a half. And then the n the next planet that we want to that we would likely feel a little bit more intensely is Mars. And Mars stations retrograde every two years. So those are the ones where it can feel pretty like they grab our attention and it's it's a little bit more I'd say loud. Then the outer planets, again, they're still we're we might feel a retrograde moment with them, but usually it's when they pull the most focus on the day they station retrograde and then the day that they go direct. That's when we can kind of be like, whoa, like you might sense or feel or get a download or something might happen that that clocks that a little bit. But usually the outer planets are a little bit like it's more subtle, but you can think of it as like, but like slow and steady. mounting of something, you know, like an idea coming in or an insight coming in or a change happening, but it's it's more slow and steady.

Sasha Pearl: Okay, awesome. Yeah. So that's actually really helpful too to know that like when they do retrograde at least for Venus in Mars, like that's kind of a big deal since it happens every two years or every eighteen months. Okay. Thank you. And we can continue.

Celeste Seibel: Yes. Perfect. Perfect. I love that we're talking about this because I think that retrogrades can be a really potent time to work with. And so that's where I think again, strip out the fear. Let's just, you know, embrace it and know that that like we're kind of here along for the ride. Like let's observe, let's be present, let's reflect, let's see what this retrograde has to offer us. So for Venus, let's talk about Venus first. so it is retrograde for about 40 days when this happens every 18 months. And Venus works on an eight-year cycle. And the cool thing about Venus, like this is how the universe works is incredible. But like it the what from our perception from Earth, Venus makes the shape of a five petal rose in the sky.

Sasha Pearl: No, shut up. Are you serious?

Celeste Seibel: I'm not joking. Yes. Yes. Serious. Google it.

Sasha Pearl: Even more precious.

Celeste Seibel: Yes. Yes. And so it it it it makes the like so in this eight year cycle, every of every petal is like where the retrograde happens. And it always happens in the same part of the sky. So where we experience a Venus retrograde in eight years, we're gonna experience it again. And for us, this is happening in Scorpio and it's gonna retrograde back into Libra. So right now Venus just entered Scorpio and it is stationed direct right now, but it's slowing down because as we've talked about, when a planet's getting close to retrograde, it slows down and then it kind of stops and then it it appears to move backwards. That's the retrograde. And so the retrograde is gonna happen on, let me see, I wrote it down. Where did it go? Okay, October 3rd. And so That's when we station retrograde. And again, the day that the retrograde happens, that's just we might notice something. Like it can feel a little loud when any planet stations retrograde or direct. So that's just a data notice. Nothing you don't have to do anything, just notice it. Maybe journal that day or jot down anything that that we have some insights about. But again, Venus is the planet of love, relationship, beauty, harmony. So these are the themes that Venus is going to invite us to reflect on. And we might again learn about old patterns we're ready to release, like you were talking about earlier. Maybe some of that stuff about correcting and over correcting and boundaries, but also letting people in. So that might be a theme that comes up in your relationship with your partner, but you might also have other stuff with your with other partners because again it's not just our romantic partners, it's all of our relationships, family, friends, business partners, neighbors. Venus works in all of our connections. So

Sasha Pearl: Yeah.

Celeste Seibel: there is a teacher in all of our relationships that will help us and support us. And so anyway, it's going to track back And then it's going to station direct on November thirteenth. And so November thirteenth is when it stations direct and it starts to move forward. But just like we were talking about, it's like it Venus has moved all the way back and it's stopped and then it starts to go forward again. So imagine now that it's direct and it has its power and it's not in this place of reflection, but you're still traversing all of the area that you backed up On. So in a way, you're still in the review period, but you have more forward momentum. So that's where maybe like you might like start to take more action around some of the insights that you had while beef was retrograde. And so you might notice if you are working on an aspect in your relationship with a friend or a partner or something like that, that that's when you might start to put some of the pieces together. Like you're like, I had this insight. This is some things I want to try, or I might let's try this action, or I'm gonna set this boundary, or I'm gonna do this thing. That's where you're gonna start to see the action start to maybe land from what you learned. And so to get really nerdy, do you wanna be nerdy for like one second?

Sasha Pearl: Yeah, it's always

Celeste Seibel: Okay. So what Venus is going to what it is is where it it it will go through its So when it is in the retrograde shadow, it means that that even if Venus is direct right now as it is today, it's going to back up basically where it was in the past. And so it's called being in its shadow. So for Venus, it entered on August thirty first when it was in Libra. And so that's what we already needed to maybe feel some of the themes that are coming into play around relationship. So that is when the it's like the the tailgate so to speak of the Venus retrograde. So that's like what was happening now and at August thirty first it's going that's all of that time has been leading up to this retrograde. And then it's on November thirteenth. But it don't leave its shadow until December fifteenth. So the whole screen will be done by so that's where we're like on to new stuff. And so this is the time also think about what was going on in October, November twenty eighteen, because we are starting a new cycle with this Venus retrograde. And so it was in the same signs and the pretty much the almost exact degrees eight years ago. So this is again thinking about Scorpio and Aaron is a Scorpio, so you know this, So Scorpio is a deep water sign. So they love Scorpio loves to go deep. It loves to like get to the bottom of things. It's like it's like Scorpio doesn't want to do any small talk. Is it okay? Is it sound okay? Okay, perfect. so anyway, so think about those Scorpio themes as we're moving into this retrograde. that will likely happen. Again, this is another sign where Venus struggles where Venus isn't as strong. The energy of Venus is very different in Scorpio. So Venus is going to be like, this is a little hard. But again, those Scorpionic themes of depth, intensity, pulling up like the things that are ready to be shed and released. So those are themes of Scorpio. So that is what where where Venus is right now and the retrograde will be pulling up those those pieces for us. Then it's gonna continue its retrograde into Libra. And Libra is its home. It's it's like that's it's home. So it's very strong in Libra. But it's going to again like we're gonna it's gonna be strong there, but we're still gonna be in this period of reflection and and insight gathering if you will.

Sasha Pearl: Okay. So if you're so I'm just curious because since my Venus is in the seventh house of relationships already, so that's gonna be a huge theme for me in the retrograde. For people who have Venuses in different houses, is that gonna affect or have a different theme with relationships like say in communication or of the third house or like in your identity of the first house? Or if you wanna break that down a little bit.

Celeste Seibel: Well, I yeah, this is a great question. I think that people may feel it a little bit in their natal placement where you're saying like with yours is in the seventh house. But I think where people are gonna feel it the most is where it's actually traveling retrograde. So for you, your Scorpio is your second house of resources and assets and self worth. So this is a place for you to like review, reassess you know, better understand all of those elements. And again, thinking about relationships, but even just like aesthetics, beauty, all of harmony, balance. So it it may show up in different ways for you. And then again, you for you because you're a Libra rising, that's also going to move into your first house of self, how you're seeing your vitality. And so it's asking you to reflect and review all of these pieces, these core pieces of who you are. So that's where I think people are going to feel it the most is where it's actually traveling. And so again, remember we we drive forward, we back up, we drive forward again. So you get a few passes. So you'll probably notice some themes start to emerge during this period of August 31st when it entered its shadow, Venus, and then when it fully leaves its shadow on December fifteenth. So time to work with and really pay attention to the themes. But again, like I said, once Venus stations direct, then things are you you know, things are gonna start to move. You can you'll start to maybe take more action from the insights that you gathered during the retrograde period.

Sasha Pearl: Okay, that's okay, that's good to know. So what what for you, where's Libra and Scorpio? So what are you gonna be assessing and reflecting on?

Celeste Seibel: Ooh, yes. So for me, Scorpio is in my like the the deepest house in the chart, which is the fourth fourth house of ancestry, lineage, home. And then it's also my third house of communication, which is, you know, Libra, love air sign, communication. it's also neighbors and siblings. So those themes And when I think back, you know, to what was going on in 2018, that that was very present for me around eight years ago, what was what especially with the gift of hindsight, what was taking place. So for everybody, go back eight years and maybe think about what were those those themes that you were navigating during the let's just say October to December ish timeframe. Because we we're starting a new cycle. So it may rhyme with what we navigated eight years ago. Do you just I know I didn't prep you for this, but can you off just the top of your head thinking about anything from twenty eighteen that sticks out with your resources or your self and identity?

Sasha Pearl: Yeah, I think I think so this is I think 2018 is when I had planted the seed of like I cannot be in corporate anymore. I need to go start my own thing. And I started that in I think July of 2019. So seeds were planted, I think, in 20, like around that time. I also feel like I might have been doing like a yoga teacher training, or I was doing a lot of self-development work, or like maybe taking a course or probably something around that time where I'm really trying to like understand who do I need to be. come to actually step into at that time my biggest fear, right? Is like leaving what I everyone has told me is safe, where entrepreneurship wasn't cool yet, like being a boss babe wasn't cool yet. You know, like it was very much like, can I hold and sustain this life that I truly want? And is it going to be what it I think it's gonna look like? Answer is hindsight, no, but also so much better than I could have ever imagined. Right.

Celeste Seibel: Exactly. Exactly. And to me, that's like your first house and second house taking shape. It's like your resources, your self worth, like feeling worthy of starting your own business. And then and how those resources will you'll attract those in. And and then also first house, the house of self. Like you are your business and you are a reflection of your business. And so that is a Like you're the when you go to your website, it's your face that pops up. It's very like literal that that is

Sasha Pearl: Yes.

Celeste Seibel: a reflection of how your first house and second house around resources and assets take shape. And so that's it will be interesting to see how that continues to unfold for you as as this Venus retrograde happens. and and again, like usually it's like we get bigger insights with hindsight. So you may not even it may not even make total sense until like six months from now and you're like, that's what I was learning. That's what I was

Sasha Pearl: Well,

Celeste Seibel: getting.

Sasha Pearl: yeah. Well, and interesting that you brought up the the business and resourcing because how I'm doing business now is actually very different than how I was doing it, but I'm also still making money in an old way of how I started the business. So I'm really curious to see what new product or offering I come up with that actually stops trading my time for money, right? Like where there's like a digital product or I don't know, something that something, yeah, I think there's something brewing of or like I'm getting paid by brands or like I could see how I make money is gonna change and shift and that in with doing that my identity will also change and shift. I would assume. Yeah.

Celeste Seibel: Yes, absolutely. I mean, I w I mean how could it not? Like you are very much like central to your business and and again because your your natal Venus is steering the ship and that's also your partnerships and commitment. So that's gonna always be driving you, not necessarily in a Venus retrograde or Venus transit, but it's just like it just is. so

Sasha Pearl: Yeah. Interesting.

Celeste Seibel: If it's okay, I know we're getting close on time, but I wanted to just take a couple minutes to talk about the Mercury retrograde that's also gonna be happening. Because, you know, why not just have them both at the same time? Like that seems fun, right? Like let's do some of that. So I know we've probably all heard a lot about this, especially your audience, because I know they're interested in astrology and human design and stuff like that. But Mercury is the planet of communication, information, technology. And then Mercury is also a little bit of a trickster. So I think Mercury kind of has fun with like you know, these retrogrades. Like it's it is a little playful. It's a little like I'm gonna mess this up a little bit. We'll just see what happens, you know. and so Mercury, as we talked about, it goes retrograde about three to four times a year and it goes retrograde for about twenty days, give or take a day or two.

Sasha Pearl: okay, that's not terrible.

Celeste Seibel: So this Mercury retrograde, it is only happening in Scorpio. It's not moving into Libra like Venus is. And it stations it goes retrograde on October 24th, and then it will station direct on November 13th, all in Scorpio. So for the folks who know their chart, look to for you in particular, that's your second house of resources and assets and self worth. So This is where we might see some miscommunications is a big thing that can happen with a Mercury retrograde or a glitch with technology, especially resources or something like that. I I think it's a little funny. I know we were having just a sound issue right as we started talking about the retrograde. And to me, it's like that's like that Mercury trickster playful energy. It's like, you're talking about retrograde? Let baby I'm gonna show you like We're gonna mess with your mic a little bit. Isn't that gonna be fun?

Sasha Pearl: Please don't.

Celeste Seibel: And like let's see how you roll with it. Is it gonna freak you out? Or are you just gonna, you know, figure s figure it out on the fly? You know, that's the little little and big lessons that I think Mercury can help us with. And I think isn't it a little poetic and on the nose that both Venus and Mercury station direct on November 13th? So it just also feels like these two retrogrades are very much connected. So we're looking at themes of Venus with a relationship, beauty, harmony, and then also with communication and information and technology. So those things are going to go hand in hand and they're working in the same parts of our charts in Scorpio for both Venus and Mercury and then Libra for Venus as well. So anyway, I think that this is a time that you know, slow down, observe, reflect, be gentle. You know, back up your documents if you need to, just make sure that's in place. and also our communication with people, double triple check, maybe take a pause before we send that message, especially with Venus retrograde, like take a moment, especially in Scorpio. Scorpio Think about the Scorpion tail, like they're very strategic and when they want to sting, they know how to like kind of hit the hardest. And so we

Sasha Pearl: Mm-hmm.

Celeste Seibel: all have that Scorpio energy. So if we're feeling a little bit bingeful or a little like we want to get our stingers out, let's take a pause. Especially if Mercury's retrograde, let's let's take a pause, think about it, sleep on it, maybe draft it out and then you know, send it then. But take a moment. This isn't a time to be reactive, it's a time to be reflective.

Sasha Pearl: Okay. Well then that reminds me I need to respond to a few text messages that need to be softer. So I will do that before October third.

Celeste Seibel: Perfect, perfect.

Sasha Pearl: I love this so much. is there anything else that you want to say on the astrology or the Mercury or Mercury or Venus retrogrades before we start wrapping up?

Celeste Seibel: I think I think we covered it.

Sasha Pearl: Okay. So I always ask my guests this. the last question I asked all my guests is what I'm trying to say. If someone were to really know you, what would they need to know about you?

Celeste Seibel: Mm. but I'm I may come across as this, you know, Leo, kind of bold and courageous and playful and confident and again with my Aquarius where I can be intellectual and a little aloof and like I got things kind of dialed and figured out. But I'm I'm a softie. I my my Cancer moon I think is really tender and so I deeply need and crave just like gentleness and yeah, just this like I think I think I come across as yes, all of the ways I was just describing, but I'm I'm actually softy. I'm pretty sensitive and I l and I I think because my Venus is in Pisces, I'm such a romantic and so like it couldn't be mushy enough. You know, like I love like an like a sweet love note, a thoughtful gesture, like a you know, a hug. Like I I can't get enough of it. So I'm I'm a softie, even though it I think sometimes that I don't present that way.

Sasha Pearl: my god, you're like a little care bear. I love it. Well, I just want to bring it back to the human design too. Your core gift, like conscious sun, is gate 19, which is the most sensitive gate of them all. And it's about being able to anticipate needs, but it also has this like psychic ability and intuition to understand what people need before they even know they need it, right? And so that's where the little shafty comes in. And then what grounds you is the gate of privacy. So I find that really interesting with like your Aquarius, right? Where it's just like, I'm hold it to myself. I'm gonna be really private with it until it needs to be shared, until you feel like it's been integrated enough to share.
